Text Card Maker

Type your text, pick a template, and export a card that looks professionally designed — in seconds, not minutes.

By the BeadCalc team · Last updated: October 2026

The maker runs entirely in your browser: the text you type is never uploaded, and the PNG is rendered on your device. No sign-up, no watermark.

Most text you want to share — a quote, a tip, a reading note, an announcement — dies as plain text in a feed. The card maker turns it into an image people actually stop for: you type, choose one of 60 pre-designed templates, and download a finished PNG. It is the template-compositing approach apps like Huangyou (黄油相机) made popular, not AI image generation — the layout, typography and decoration are already designed, so a card renders in milliseconds instead of the seconds or minutes a diffusion model needs.

The template thumbnails preview your actual words, not placeholder text, so what you see is exactly what you get. Long text wraps automatically with CJK punctuation rules (a closing punctuation mark never starts a line), and the type shrinks to fit when a card gets crowded. An optional signature line and six accent colours let you keep a consistent look across a series of cards.

Everything happens on your device. The card is drawn with Canvas 2D in this page, your text is never sent to a server, and the maker keeps working offline once it has loaded. Cards are drawn on a 1080-pixel-wide canvas and exported at double resolution, so the PNG stays sharp on retina feeds and in print.

How to make a text card

  1. Type or paste your text in the box. Your line breaks are kept; leave a blank line where you want a paragraph gap.
  2. Pick a template from the gallery — every thumbnail renders your real text, so compare layouts with your own words in them. Use the arrows to page through all 60.
  3. Choose a size: 3:4 is the Xiaohongshu feed default, 9:16 fits stories and phone wallpaper, 16:9 suits article covers and video thumbnails.
  4. Optionally add a signature (your name or handle) and pick one of the six accent colours used by the template decorations.
  5. Download the PNG at 2× resolution, or copy the image and paste it straight into the app you are posting to.

The 60 templates, by family

The templates are data-driven designs, not filters: each one re-draws the background, decorations and type around your text. They group into six families, so a series of posts can stay in one visual voice.

Template names in the maker are shown in the interface language; the designs themselves are language-neutral and work with text in any script.

Five sizes, drawn for the feeds they land in

Every size is drawn on a canvas 1080 pixels wide (1600 for 16:9) and exported at exactly double that, so the downloaded PNG is always the high-resolution version.

Frequently asked questions

Is the text I type uploaded to a server?

No. The card is composited with Canvas 2D inside your browser and the PNG is generated locally — there is no upload step at all. You can check by loading this page, going offline, and making a card: everything except the first page load works without a network.

Why is it instant when AI image tools take seconds or minutes?

There is no model to run. The templates are finished designs — background, decoration and typography are decided in advance — so making a card is just drawing layers and your text onto a canvas, work a browser does at 60 frames per second. AI generators, by contrast, compute every pixel from scratch for every image.

Which size should I pick?

Start with the default 3:4 for Xiaohongshu feeds. Use 9:16 for stories, short-video covers and phone wallpaper; 16:9 for article covers and video thumbnails; 4:5 for Instagram feed portraits; and 1:1 when the post slot is square. The card is re-drawn at the new size, never stretched, so you can switch freely and compare.

What resolution is the downloaded PNG?

Double the drawing canvas: a 3:4 card exports at 2160 × 2880 pixels, a 9:16 card at 2160 × 3840, and a 16:9 card at 3200 × 1800. That is comfortably above what any feed displays, so cards stay sharp when a platform crops or compresses them.

Can I put line breaks and paragraphs in my text?

Yes — the maker respects your line breaks, and a blank line gives you a paragraph gap. If a line is too long for the card it wraps automatically (CJK closing punctuation never starts a new line), and if the whole text still overflows, the type size steps down until it fits instead of being cut off.

Does it cost anything, and is there a watermark?

It is free, with no watermark, no sign-up and no limit on how many cards you make. BeadCalc is supported by the rest of the site; the maker itself shows no ads over your card and adds no branding to the export unless you type your own signature.

Which languages does the maker support?

The interface is available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean — it follows this page’s language and can be switched inside the maker. Your card text can be in any language or script; the layout engine handles Latin word wrapping and CJK character wrapping.
