Image Format Converter

Last updated: October 2026

Change image files between JPG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF — and turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG files you can open almost anywhere. Add up to 20 images at once, pick one output format, and download each converted file separately or all of them together as a ZIP file. Original pixel dimensions are kept.

Privacy: Files are processed only in the browser and are never uploaded to a server.

Supported inputs: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF (where your browser can decode it), and HEIC / HEIF. Converted files keep their original dimensions.

Results and downloads

Converted files appear here as they finish. Download them one by one, or use the ZIP download once at least one file has converted successfully.

How it works

  1. Choose up to 20 JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, or HEIC / HEIF images.
  2. Pick an output format. For JPG, WebP, or AVIF, set the quality you want.
  3. Convert. Each file is decoded and re-encoded in your browser at its original size.
  4. Download files individually, or download everything that succeeded as one ZIP file. Files that fail show their own error message, so a single failure does not hide the rest of your batch.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Files are processed only in the browser and are never uploaded to a server. The only thing that may be downloaded is the optional HEIC decoder, described below — your images themselves stay on your device.

How do I convert an iPhone HEIC photo to JPG?

Choose the HEIC photo, keep the output format set to JPG, and convert. iPhone photos are saved as HEIC by default, and many websites, forms, and Windows apps cannot open them. This page first tries your browser’s native HEIC decoding, which works in Safari. If that fails, it lazily loads the heic2any decoder and converts the photo to JPG at its original dimensions. If both paths fail, you get a clear error instead of a broken download: on iPhone, open the photo in Photos or Files and use Share to save it as JPG, or try again in Safari.

What happens if my browser cannot output AVIF?

You get a clear error for that file and no AVIF file is created. The page checks AVIF encoding support at run time by trying canvas.toBlob with image/avif, instead of failing silently. Choose JPG, PNG, or WebP instead, or try a browser with AVIF encoding support.

Does converting change the image size in pixels?

No. The output keeps the original pixel dimensions. Only the file format changes, plus the quality setting for JPG, WebP, or AVIF. Converting JPG to JPG still re-encodes the image at the quality you choose, so the file size may change even though the dimensions do not.

Does the quality slider affect PNG output?

No. PNG is lossless, so the quality slider is ignored for PNG output. It applies to JPG, WebP, and AVIF output only.

What library is used for HEIC decoding, and what is its licence?

HEIC decoding uses heic2any 0.0.4 by Alex Corvi. It is MIT licensed and bundles libheif (LGPL) for decoding. The decoder download is about 1.3 MB, is loaded from jsDelivr only when you first choose a HEIC file, and is never loaded at first page load. If your browser can already decode HEIC natively, the decoder is not loaded at all.

Why did one file fail while others succeeded?

Each file is converted separately and shows its own error message. A common cause is a format your browser cannot decode or encode, a file that is not actually an image, or a HEIC file that neither native decoding nor the heic2any decoder could read. Successful files in the same batch are still available to download.
